If you are from the South East, you may have heard of this store. Aldi is a German company, which explains their unique way of running their business in the states. You can also find Aldi in the Netherlands.
This grocery store is great for buying food locally. The cheese is a much nicer selection than Schinnen and reasonably affordable. Wine, fruits and veggies are also really good deals here and the fruit lasts longer than the commissary.
Note that Aldi has two branches. Aldi Nord is what you’ll find in the Netherlands, while the stores in the local area on the German side of the border are Aldi Süd. You will find differences in the brands available between these two.
